Dabei wird nur ein Punkt übersehen, und zwar einer, der für jeden Nicht-Amerikaner in Wahrheit der wichtigste ist: Trump wäre in der Frage von Krieg und Frieden vermutlich die bessere Wahl als Clinton.

Und ausgerechnet in Syrien will Hillary Clinton die militärische Konfrontation mit Russland riskieren. Clinton hat sich ausdrücklich dafür ausgesprochen, über Syrien, oder Teilen davon, eine Flugverbotszone einzurichten... Die Risiken sind unabsehbar. Vor allem das Risiko eines militärischen Konflikts mit Russland.

Amerika unterstützt hier die Kurden und ist gleichzeitig mit der Türkei verbündet, die ihrerseits erbittert gegen die Kurden kämpft. Gegen den IS lassen sich die USA von den Saudis helfen, die ihrerseits zu den Förderern des islamistischen Terrorismus gehören. Der amerikanische Interessenkonflikt mit Russland scheint in Syrien unüberbrückbar - aber das hindert Israel, Amerikas größten Verbündeten in der Region, nicht daran, sich mit Putin zu arrangieren. Das schreckliche Leid in Aleppo entsetzt den Westen - aber die Rebellen weigern sich, die Stadt zu räumen und dadurch die Zivilbevölkerung vor weiteren Bomben zu verschonen.
Täglich setzen wir uns mit den Bildern des Schreckens, die dieser Krieg wie jeder Krieg erzeugt, unter einen buchstäblich unerträglichen moralischen Druck und belügen uns dabei doch selber. Denn wenn es wirklich das Leid der Menschen ist, das uns umtreibt, dann sollte der Westen aufhören, in Syrien eigene machtpolitische Ziele zu verfolgen. Es ist keineswegs so, dass der Westen nichts tun kann - im Gegenteil: Er kann aufhören, sich einzumischen.
Clinton steht für die Kontinuität der US-Politik. Trump steht für einen Bruch mit den Traditionen. Wie verlogen müssen diese Traditionen sein, wenn einer wie Trump plötzlich als ehrlichere Wahl dasteht? Trumps bisheriger Erfolg ist überhaupt nur dadurch zu erklären, dass er ein Bedürfnis adressiert: nach Neuanfang. Die New York Times hat neulich geschrieben: "Trump ist die logische Konsequenz von allem Schlechten in Amerika".
Der Satz enthält mehr Wahrheit, als uns allen lieb sein kann.
Dieser Artikel ist bei der ganzen Clinton-Hörigkeit der Medien, komischerweiße auch in unserem Land, mehr als überflüssig und entspricht absolut meiner Meinung!
